Rescue equipment - Offer achub
The equipment that Coastguard Rescue Teams have is dependent
on the nature of the coastline for which they are responsible. Our team at Porthdinllaen has a varied
coastline as described on our location page.
The vehicle we are supplied with is a Nissan Terrano
which is based at the Coastguard Rescue Station at Porthdinllaen. It is a four wheel drive SUV with seating
for five and a limited amount of equipment space in the rear compartment for
blankets, first aid equipment, flares (which we refer to as “pyro’s”), torches,
etc. The vehicle is also equipped with
GPS, two-way marine band VHF radio, public address system and binoculars.
To carry the heavier rescue equipment we have a trailer which
can be towed by the Terrano or if required by a team member’s vehicle.
The trailer holds a number of 200 metre cliff lines (ropes),
portable winch, portable generator and lights, stretcher, quadpod, harnesses,
holdfasts (iron stakes) and various other smaller items.
Team members are issued with individual items such as high
visibility clothing, handheld radios, helmets, torches etc.
Mae’r math o offer sydd gan bob tim yn dibynnu ar natur yr
arfordir y maent yn gyfrifol amdano.
Arfordir amrywiol iawn sydd ganddom ni fel y gwelir ar y dudalen yn
disgrifio ein lleoliad.
Yn ein gorsaf ni ym Mhorthdinllaen y cedwir ein cerbyd, sef
Nissan Terrano gyda dreif pedair olwyn i gludo pump ohonnom. Yng ngefn y cerbyd mae lle i rywfaint o
offer ysgafn fel blwch cymorth cyntaf,
blancedi, tyrs, ‘flares’. Ceir
GPS, radio ddwyffordd forol ar donfedd uchel iawn, darseinydd i gyfarch y cyhoedd , ac amrywiol ddeulygadion.
Ar gyfer cludo offer achub trymach mae ganddom olgerbyd a
dynnir gan y Nissan neu gan gerbyd un aelod o’r tim os bydd angen.
Yn yr olgerbyd mae nifer o raffau 200 metr, wins cludadwy,
generadur goleuni a lampau, estynell, ‘quadpod’, harneisiau, stanciau haearn ac
offer man arall.
Mae gan yr aelodau offer unigol fel dillad a gwelededd
uchel, radio cludadwy, helm, tors ac yn
